UNITED IS THE WAY WE SUPPORT OUR YOUTH

Higher education is not only a dream for most young people — it has become an increasingly necessary stepping stone to well-paying, stable employment. For foster youth, the financial resources, mentorship, support, stability, and guidance needed to complete postsecondary education or training programs are not always there.

Studies have found that just 3-4% of former foster youth obtain a four-year college degree.

You can help

This month, we are partnering with programs at four local colleges - Western Michigan University, Jackson College, Lansing Community College, and Michigan State University - to support 190 students arriving on campuses this fall after transitioning out of foster care.

Each student will receive a Welcome Home Basket filled with school, cleaning and home supplies, as well as a $250 gift card for other necessities for their dorms or apartments.

But we need your help.

Your donation can help ensure a warm welcome, resources and support for these students.
