Hiring? Join Us at the Career Life Expo

Spots are filling up quickly, but Career Life Expo booths are still available for area employers.

The expo, set for February 20, is designed to meet the hiring needs of employers while providing job-seekers with the support services they need to succeed as employees.

We are accepting a wide variety of employers from the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo region representing small, large and mid-sized companies from sectors including for-profit, non-profit, government, education and military. Each participating company will have booth space to use for meeting with attendees, promoting current job openings and conducting on-site interviews.

“We’re looking forward to connecting talented individuals not only with local employers seeking workers, but also community organizations that can help make that connection more successful for both parties,” said Ben Nyhoff, Corporate Relations & Engagement Associate for United Way.

Before meeting with employers on the expo floor, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with job coaches for assistance with resumes and cover letters, interview skills and more. Representatives from area non-profits will be on hand in the Community Resource Alley to help address issues that may be barriers to employment – transportation, child care, stable housing and more.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at Wings Event Center for booth setup, and volunteers will be available to assist. The VIP Participant Hour – for veterans and individuals with disabilities – kicks off at noon, and the general public will be welcome from 1-4 p.m.

We invite you to join us for this event as together we aim to get more families and households in our region to a place of financial stability. Contact Michigan Works! Southwest at (269) 383-2536 or careerservices@miworkssw.org to reserve a booth or learn more.

The Career Life Expo is co-hosted by United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region and Michigan Works! Southwest, and sponsored by Wings Event CenterAmeriFirst Home Mortgage, and Midwest Communications.
