IMPACT! Back to School Makes a Difference

The COVID-19 pandemic pushed many students into a virtual classroom. While that worked fine for some, others struggled to keep pace. Our partnership with the Student Advocacy Center provided a means for one family to find a better way—and to succeed academically:

The SAC advocate assisted three siblings—a 3rd grader and two 4th graders—who had been enrolled in virtual school due to the pandemic but were struggling so much that they decided to no longer participate. The parent reached out to SAC for assistance in getting the students enrolled in face-to-face public school. The advocate assisted the parent with completing paperwork and connecting to appropriate staff to get the students enrolled. At the end of the school year, the students were successfully attending full days of school and preparing to enroll in summer school.

A successful, financially stable life depends on a quality education. These students are now on the pathway to success. That’s the power of United Way partnerships throughout Jackson County! Thank you for making this kind of impact possible. Your support makes a difference.
