This month, United Way BCKR was proud to present a new video featuring Kinetic Affect that explores what United Way stands for and why we need the community to stand with us.
“Living the United Way” is a spoken word piece written and performed by the local duo, composed of Kirk Latimer and Gabe Giron, a United Way board member. In a roughly five-minute piece, Latimer and Giron talk about what United Way means to our community in a time when people are feeling more disconnected than ever.
“Success for those who are struggling is success for all of us,” they wrote. “Giving a hand to someone who fell down means they have to give a hand back to you, so we can lift each other up. Because we rise and fall together. That’s the way we were meant to live. The hand-in-hand way. The face-to-face way. The United Way.”
