Whirlpool Appliance Sale Comes to Battle Creek

Hundreds of deeply discounted appliances supplied by Whirlpool Corporation will be on sale to the public in a special two-day event benefitting two area United Ways.

On Dec. 11-12, major appliances such as ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers from Whirlpool Corporation’s brand portfolio including Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid will be available at significant savings. Shoppers may also find small quantities of microwaves, range hoods, cooktops, wall ovens, laundry centers, and freestanding freezers. All major appliances are new and come with a full one-year warranty.

A popular biannual event in Benton Harbor, the sale will benefit both United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region (UWBCKR) and United Way of Southwest Michigan (UWSM). The two nonprofits are partnering with Whirlpool Corporation to bring the sale to Battle Creek for the first time. Battle Creek Unlimited is providing the space at McCamly Place near Festival Market Square.

“We’re grateful for this unique partnership that allows us to offer valuable savings on major household appliances – purchases that can put a strain on a tight household budget, particularly for financially struggling families in our communities,” said Chris Sargent, president & CEO of UWBCKR. “Additionally, the proceeds gained from the sale will be invested back into our local communities for maximum impact.”

All products purchased must be picked up during sale hours. For an additional $100 donation per appliance, home deliveries will be available within a 30-mile radius. Payment must be cash or credit card; no checks will be accepted. There will be no early sales.

“Shoppers can expect to experience significant savings on incredible new appliances while making a difference in communities across Southwest Michigan,” said Gokul Nair, Whirlpool Corporation’s global IT director and long-time leader of the sale in Benton Harbor.

The appliance sale happens Saturday, Dec. 11, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For the safety of our community, masks and social distancing will be required. Parking is available in the Hamblin Avenue Parking Ramp, free of charge for the first hour.

Bring family and friends to shop, and help United Way in the process!
