Tax check-off supports local community

Did you know that when you file your 2016 state income tax return in Michigan that you have the opportunity to support local families in our region?

A donation to the United Way Fund is quick and easy. Every contribution made by taxpayers in the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo region stays in the area, going directly toward initiatives and programs aimed at increasing financial stability, improving health and education outcomes, and ensuring that basic needs are met for individuals and families here.

Using Form 4642 (Voluntary Contributions Schedule), available at www.michigan.gov, you can choose to donate all or a portion of your state tax return to the United Way Fund. Simply fill out the top portion, check off line #10, and submit with your MI-1040 form.

The United Way Fund is an easy way to Live United and make a difference for families in your local community. Please consider participating in the tax check-off program this year and help us #ChangeTheStory!
