AmeriFirst: 'By Tackling Problems Together, We Can Achieve Results'

What happens when you pair a locally-based company committed to strengthening communities with the strategies and resources that can make that happen?

You get a dynamic, long-lasting partnership that has real impact potential.

AmeriFirst Home Mortgage, headquartered in Kalamazoo with locations all across Michigan and the Midwest, has long been a champion for its communities. It now continues that tradition as a strategic partner supporting United Way’s work in Financial Stability within the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo region.

“At AmeriFirst, we work hard to build lasting relationships with our customers and our communities. We value teamwork and know that we are stronger by working together,” said AmeriFirst CEO and Co-Founder Mark Jones. “By supporting United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region, we know our funds are not only improving conditions in our community but are working to achieve the underlying issues that create these problems. By tackling community problems together, we can achieve results.”

AmeriFirst is three-year sponsor of the Career Life Expo and a partner in one of the vital strategies aimed at United Way’s regional community goal to increase the number of economically stable households: Prevention of Sustainable Housing Loss for Low-Income and Working Families.

“Keeping families secure in their homes helps to stabilize and build a strong local community. As a mortgage company, we know that homeownership continues to be an important avenue for building wealth in the U.S., particularly among low-income and minority households,” Jones said. “We want to continue to work collaboratively with United Way and other local businesses and organizations to help our most vulnerable community members be healthy, educated and economically stable. We know it takes engaging the entire community, and we want to be a part of that.”
