Day 21: Taking Action

Congratulations on completing the 21-Day Equity Challenge! We are thankful that you are on this journey and made time to learn and reflect. We know these topics and the feelings they evoke are complex. We encourage you to channel your hopefulness, frustration, joy, love, and whatever else you may be feeling following these hard conversations to fuel your action. How will you be an advocate for justice and dismantling systems of oppression?

Remember that bias and oppression have taken centuries to imbed themselves into our daily lives, it will take time to undo. But it’s possible.

Your challenge, if you accept it, is to:

  • Write an email or letter to yourself reflecting on what you’re feeling having experienced the 21-Day Equity Challenge, what you’ve learned, and what you hope for your community. Schedule it to send in six months or ask a trusted friend to drop the letter to you in six months.
  • Start a conversation about equity with people you care about. Who is that family member, friend, or co-worker who you can move along a path of action, deep reflection, and listening with you to keep the momentum going?
  • Get involved. Find a group of people who are also working to build a more just community and world. It can be a group of friends, people connected to an organization, a movement space, or something else. Find the place that will keep you motivated and accountable to continue learning and being part of the change our communities need.

Thank you again for being part of this equity challenge. We look forward to when our paths will cross again.
