IMPACT! A Young Life Recovering from Trauma

FSCA-counseling-768x808

Trauma can have terrible effects on a person’s mental health. When the person is young, that impact can last a lifetime. Jackson County residents struggling with tough times are getting the help they need through Family Service & Children’s Aid‘s clinical counseling voucher program—a partnership we’re proud to help fund:

United Way funding helped a youth get access to needed services to aid in being successful in school. The youth had been exposed to many significant traumatic events in a young life. The mother was experiencing financial hardships and was overwhelmed with stressors. Being able to provide financial support to reduce their co-pays removed a barrier to necessary treatment. After a few sessions, the youth’s behaviors began to improve per the youth’s, mother’s and school’s reports. Without United Way funding, this youth would not have been able to access behavioral health services.

Your investment in United Way is having a powerful, positive effect on young people in Jackson County. Please continue to support our work.
