IMPACT! Empowering Homeownership

Owning a home is considered a key element in “the American dream.” But for many individuals and families, it’s a hurdle too high for countless reasons. Our partner, Community Action Agency, has developed a unique, community-based approach that empowers people to homeownership. Here’s one example:

CAA met with a young married couple who had four children. The woman had lost her job, and he is on disability. By attending our financial stability classes and meeting one-on-one with our team, they have decreased their debt and increased their credit score. That puts them in a strong position to purchase a home once she returns to work.

The journey isn’t completed for this family, but they’re well on their way. That’s what hope is all about—and hope is what you provide when you support the work of United Way. Thank you!
