Jackson County residents struggling with tough times can turn to Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties, a partner we’re proud to support thanks to your contributions. One of the toughest times happens when a parent loses a child. Thankfully, there’s hope:

Margaret sought bereavement counseling after her youngest son was killed. Her son’s death added to the strain of an abusive marriage. The parents blamed one another for the child’s death. They became involved in an ugly divorce that left Margaret without a home or income, as she lost her place in their shared business. Still grieving, plagued with PTSD and generalized anxiety disorder, Margaret sought help. She has kept up with counseling weekly, focusing on psychoeducation, anxiety reduction, coping skills and challenging negative feelings. Margaret is making meaningful progress. She has been able to secure housing and employment. Margaret continues to be engaged and receptive to services, demonstrating how appropriate counseling can be supportive even in a person’s darkest period.

We’re rooting for Margaret and everyone in our community who seeks the support that Catholic Charities provides. Our partnership with them is an investment in lives right here in Jackson County. We invite you to join us with a financial gift today.
