IMPACT! Making a Family’s Life Better

Over a third of households countywide are single-parent households, nearly all of them female-led and many struggling financially. Those realities motivate Partial To Girls (PTG) to support underserved women and children in the Jackson area. Today’s story describes the many challenges these families face and how our partnership with PTG can make a family’s life better:

PTG worked with a woman in her 20s with three children, no home and no transportation. This woman was referred by a friend who knew we offered emergency services with basic needs and beyond. PTG provided services of assistance and referrals—helping with diapers, formula, rides to appointments and even application assistance. Fortunately, the family now has a place to live, and the mother is employed. While she still does not have transportation of her own yet, PTG continues to help with bus cards and gas cards to ensure she can get back and forth to work. This family’s life is getting better because of the services PTG provides through partnership with United Way.

Building a community can be as simple as helping one family, even one person, at a time. That’s the commitment that PTG and United Way bring to Jackson County. It happens because of generous donors. Please consider making a gift today to impact even more lives right here in Jackson County.
