IMPACT! Meeting Needs, Keeping Up

Trusted-Advisors-768x721-1

Trusted Advisors provide a crucial link to Jackson County residents who are struggling, including keeping them linked to case managers. Our partnership with the Great Start Collaborative of Jackson County supports this vital program. Here’s an example:

“Mark” is a vulnerable adult that a Trusted Advisor works with on a regular basis. All of the Trusted Advisors know Mark as well and try to help him whenever they encounter him. Mark has a case manager that can’t always keep up with his needs. The Trusted Advisors help him to stay connected with his case manager to get his needs met. For example, Mark was found walking downtown, in winter, with no coat and one shoe. Our Trusted Advisor was able to get Mark’s case manager on the phone and ensure the case manager connected with Mark to cover his need of a coat and shoes. Case managers are not usually in the community where persons of poverty might be and are unable to keep up with all of the needs the people on their caseloads might have. If a Trusted Advisor was not able to help, persons like Mark would continue to struggle unnecessarily.

With your continued support of United Way, we’re able to work with partners like Great Start Collaborative to build trust and deliver hope.
