IMPACT! Partial To Girls Helps Families Escape Homelessness

Women and families are the fastest-growing groups among those experiencing homelessness in the United States. Domestic violence, poverty and social inequities are factors driving this growth. Driving solutions, on the other hand, is what United Way of Jackson County strives for every day. One of our community partners making a big difference is Partial To Girls:

Some of Partial To Girls’ most impactful stories involve the women Partial To Girls (P2G) has helped escape homelessness, getting them into temporary or permanent housing that’s safe and stable. Recently, one woman that P2G was able to help was hiding near the bus station in downtown Jackson, living outside in the elements. Partial To Girls was able to use connections with the county Department of Health & Human Services and Community Action Agency to get her housing needs met. After getting these women housed, P2G then helps with basic needs items as they get settled and find their way toward long-term stable housing.

Partial To Girls is a group of diverse women from unique backgrounds who are taking action in the community to bring impactful change to those who need it the most. UWJC is proud to work alongside P2G as we strive together for an equitable community where all people can achieve financial stability.
