Get Your FAFSA In: CapCAN’s #FAFSAFlocked Campaign kicks into overdrive during February to encourage FAFSA completion. What is FAFSA? It’s the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, a form that students fill out to apply for financial aid. In order to award federal grants, such as the Pell Grant and federal student loans, the government assesses the information that is included on the FAFSA form. Be sure to take advantage of all the FAFSA events at area high schools. Check out CapCAN’s digital-media advertising and its #FAFSAFlocked Toolkit. Postsecondary Gains: The Lumina Foundation released its annual adult postsecondary attainment data. CapCAN is delighted to announce that Ingham County has finally topped 50 percent, and significant gains were made in Eaton County as well. The collective work from CapCAN and its community partners has been one of the critical factors, along with the new Reconnect Scholarship, in sparking this growth.
