Strong communities are built when people show up for one another, and United Way Days offers an opportunity to do exactly that.
United Way Days, set for Oct. 26–30, will unite community members, nonprofits and businesses through volunteer opportunities and a challenge to complete 1,000 Acts of Care in one week.
Participants can join individually, with coworkers, friends, family or alongside community partners. Our nonprofit partners have identified dozens of projects that address real needs, both in person and online. These are scheduled in communities across our six-county region throughout the week.
Community members can also keep track of their own Acts of Care and share them with United Way so it may count toward the goal of 1,000. These could include things like stocking a Little Library, checking on a neighbor, or cleaning up a public space. Find a list of additional ideas here.
“Whether you’re volunteering at a nonprofit, checking on a neighbor, or doing something kind for a stranger, every act of care contributes to a more thriving community,” said Stephanie Slingerland, Executive Engagement Officer for United Way. “United Way Days is a chance for all of us to create meaningful change, build connections and show what our community can accomplish when we work together.”
