Recapping Our 21-Day Disability Equity Challenge

equity challenge (9)

For 21 days within the month of August, United Way of South Central Michigan, in partnership with Disability Network of Southwest Michigan, hosted their 21-Day Disability Equity Challenge.

This virtual challenge provided one email per day with various topics, exploring disability from a position of equity and pride. It’s designed to raise awareness, increase understanding, and to create meaningful change in our communities and advocate for disability justice.

UWSCMI would like to thank the 530 participants who took the time to learn, engage, and reflect throughout the challenge. We hope you will continue to accept our challenge to bring this valuable information with you wherever you go and to use it to make a difference in your community.

” I just want to say thank you, United Way, for being a vessel of great citizenship allowing the unheard to be heard,” mentioned one participant.

UWSCMI extends a heartfelt thank you to our Equity Challenge sponsor, Peckham, Inc. and our co-host, Disability Network of Southwest Michigan. We are grateful for the opportunity to have your support on such important matters within our community.

If you did not get the chance to sign up and missed our 21-Day Disability Equity Challenge, you can do so by visiting unitedforscmi.org/disability-equity-challenge/
