United Way Hosts Volunteer Fair at MSU

2025 Volunteer Fair2

If you’re a Lansing-area volunteer looking for that “perfect match,” an upcoming Lansing event might have what you’re searching for.

United Way of South Central Michigan (UWSCMI) will hold a Volunteer Fair on Saturday, Sept. 19, on Michigan State University’s campus. The free event will help match potential volunteers with opportunities offered by nearly 30 area nonprofits.

“It’s like speed dating for volunteers,” said Michele Strasz, Director of Community Impact – Public Policy and Volunteer Engagement for UWSCMI. “People with a heart for volunteering can learn what local nonprofits have to offer. Every connection made makes a difference in our community.”

Participants can also enjoy hot dogs, ice cream, and a free flu shot if they wish.

UWSCMI is partnering with the Michigan State University Center for Community Engaged Learning on the Volunteer Fair. Other sponsors include Davenport University, Lansing Board of Water & Light, and State Sen. Sam Singh.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MSU’s Benefactor’s Plaza near the Student Services Building, 556 E Circle Dr #237, in East Lansing.

Other volunteer opportunities are available through the UWSCMI Volunteer Center at unitedforscmi.org/volunteer.
