Stephanie Slingerland has been named “Notable Leader in Philanthropy” by Crain’s Grand Rapids Business.

Slingerland is Immediate Past Chair of UWSCMI’s Board and the Chief Philanthropy Officer at Kellanova. She is among 28 philanthropic leaders from across West Michigan highlighted by Crain’s.

“These individuals are changemakers, representing a diverse cross-section of nonprofits and philanthropic organizations, each committed to empowering communities, advancing equity and making a difference,” the publication noted.

“Stephanie’s leadership is equaled only by her passion and compassion for the communities we serve,” said Chris Sargent, UWSCMI President & Executive Officer. “She is a tireless champion for United Way’s work. And as Kellanova’s Chief Philanthropy Officer, Stephanie helps UWSCMI build critical corporate partnerships and connect to Kellanova’s anti-hunger initiatives.

“All of us at UWSCMI couldn’t be more proud of Stephanie or more grateful for her wise counsel and leadership,” Sargent added.

In addition to her role with UWSCMI, Slingerland serves on the Leadership Council for No Kid Hungry and the United Way Worldwide Global Corporate Leaders Council. An energetic hands-on volunteer, she is a regular fixture at hunger-related community events and co-worker volunteer efforts. Earlier this year, she hosted a robust panel discussion at SXSW on partnerships and initiatives to end hunger. Slingerland is also active on social media, advocating for United Way, Kellanova’s Better Days initiatives, and other activities that have meaningful impact for people.

Congratulations Stephanie Slingerland!
