Day of Action 2022: Support Summer Stock Up

On Tuesday, June 21, thousands of people across the globe will take part in United Way’s Day of Action, participating in virtual and in-person opportunities that make a meaningful difference in their communities.

At United Way of South Central Michigan, we invite you to participate by making a donation to Summer Stock Up, a virtual food drive fundraiser aimed at alleviating a pervasive summertime struggle for many families throughout our six county region – keeping food on the table.

During the summer months when students are not receiving meals at school, 20 percent more Michigan families visit food banks and pantries, and with food and transportation costs rising for both families and organizations, keeping shelves stocked can be a challenge.

A donation from you will be directed to your local community through your zip code, and every dollar can be leveraged by food banks to make sure they can continue to serve families all summer long.

How to Take Action

  1. Make a donation. Summer Stock Up runs through June 26. A donation of any amount makes a big difference for families right in your community.
  2. Share! Post the link our Summer Stock Up page – summerstockup.org – or the video below on social media, share at your workplace, or with friends and family. Help us spread the word about this important initiative.
