IMPACT! Mom and Baby Doing Fine

Education is a critical part of achieving financial stability for a lifetime. That’s a challenge for teenage parents, who struggle to balance childcare and learning. One of our partners, Hub Teen Center of Jackson, targets this need through its hubMOMS initiative. Here’s one of its success stories:

When the Hub Teen Center staff met Alice, she was 19 years old with a four-week-old baby. Mom and baby were living in a pay-by-the-week hotel. Even though Alice was 19, she was still in the 10th grade by credit. Alice joined hubMOMS and within 18 months was able to graduate from high school, rent her first apartment, and get her first stable job. Her baby is now two years old, and both mom and baby are on a path towards success!

The hubMOMS program provides support for teen mothers and their families to achieve financial stability through infant care while moms complete high school, parenting support and life-skills training, including financial planning and career/job readiness training. We’re proud to be a supporter of this important initiative—made possible with your generous donations!

Please support our work.
