IMPACT! Trust Brings Rescue

Trusted-Advisors-11-2021-768x675-1

Trusted Advisors provide a crucial link for Jackson County residents who are struggling. Our partnership with the Great Start Collaborative of Jackson County supports this vital program. Here’s an example of how this effort rescued a couple from being forced to live in their car:

A Trusted Advisor met “Kevin” and “Kelly” in a park where they had been sleeping in their car. They had secured an apartment but couldn’t move in until they’d paid an outstanding utility bill—which they’d tried to do, but the payment was applied to the wrong account. Solving the problem turned out to be a lengthy and at times frustrating process, with two Trusted Advisors working with multiple parties to resolve it. But they stuck with it, and in the end they succeeded. Kevin and Kelly had fallen through the cracks in the system, but the support of Trusted Advisors moved them from sleeping in a car to sleeping in their own apartment.

With your continued support of United Way, we’re able to work with partners like Great Start Collaborative to build trust and deliver hope.
